I've been on a dog search for the past few days and looked into yorkies numerous times...found out my best bet was to look in the local newspaper classifieds breeders with actual pups advertise in there more than anywhere else....I turned away from them because I realized they do not stay black and tan they turn gray and tan and look just like a silky terrier for twice the price...

Sorry, it's not the Austin area, but a great breeder (actually houses pups from several breeders, so lots of choices. We have one of his, and he's been a great dog.

They are about an hour north of Dallas in Bonham. If nothing else, he may be able to tell you who is good in your area. Be ready to pay!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the link. I know theses dogs are expensive. I paid $1400.00 for one last year. Plus $1400.00 for the new one (when I find it).

They sure aren't cheap. Good luck. The good thing about this breeder is that the puppies are kept in kennels inside, but they all have dog runs to the outside, so they start house training "day 1" so to speak. Ours was trained in a couple months completely accident free.

Some lady in Austin wnats 2500.00 for a Yorkie. She must be smoking some of that grass. Then again, Austin is weird.

UL it is going to be a couple more days before I can get you the name - wife has no internet at work (Exxon is particular about that) and she doesn't remember her name, but could search her up pretty quick with the web - that is how she found her last time. I can't find her how she told me to.

BUT

I would suggest in the meantime (if other leads aren't going fast) to spend some time on the AKC site and see if you can't find a cert'd breeder by you.

I will keep looking and report back.
