Default G5x3 vs. MS3

Im stuck between these two cams, i know LG and TSP are two very respected companies and both cams are well proven on the street and track.....Im not really sure about the new LSK lobes , thats why i want to run the XER lobes in a cam. I basically want the one thats going to work better as a combo with a set of heads and Fast 90 setup....I have a 6 speed car so im not conserned about drivability, help me choose guys.....My recent mods are in my sig.

LG Motorsports: "Where Money Buys Speed"

G5X3 all the way. Slap some milled AFR 205 on there too.

Good luck.

Good luck.

I have a G5X2 right now and I am bumping up to a G5X3 and Fast intake. Hopefully within a year I can get a set of milled AFRs on there.

They both require the same .650'' dual springs, whats the difference in .600'' and .650'' not much . The Lsk has more duration at lower lift more curtain area more POWER The g5x3 on a 112lsa requires flycutting midaswell get it on a 110lsa or order a g5x4 on a 110lsa . 114lsa is a topend cam needing higher compression or expect poor results .

So the G5X3 requires flycutting even with the AFR 205's.....I didnt think LG would grind any of there cams on different LSA's other than what they have listed, thanx for the help

G5X3 114lsa will fit stock heads no milling
on a 112LSA flycuting is needed Lg Rents the head for the job or will let you use it if you buy through them Im sure
If you get AFR's mill to 59cc .40 cometics Flycut the pistons and run the g5x3 at least 112lsa call ask about the 110lsa he can get them at where ever he wants

AFRs milled to 59cc with a 40 thou gasket require no flycutting. Any other milled head I cannot speak for, but there is more PTV with that AFR setup than a cam only, stock head setup.

i vote for the g5x3, also. i would opt for a 110 lsa, but the choice is yours. 110 will require more gear and a spot on tune, whereas the 114 lsa will be more forgiving on both accounts.

Wouldn't a 110 LSA bring the power band down a little in the rpm range, iwouldnt think that would need more gear, but if so, would 4:10s be enough

I would go with the MS3 as you can tell in my sig, it makes great power above 3,000rpms.

G5X-3 all the way. It makes much better dynamic compression than the MS3 (because of the narrower LSA and advanced ICL). This will give you much more power under the curve. The MS3 is very much a top-end only cam in comparison.

will an x3 on a 110 lsa clear, also? if so, that combined with the 59cc head would make for some wicked power on stock cubes.

What's up Louis? My car was supposed to have the Cometic gasket installed but they still had to flycutt my pistons. Good thing because he Cometic wouldn't seal and coolant was leaking out near the first cylinder on the right side. Factory gaskets were installed the next day, and fixed everything. Are the Cometic's thinner or thicker then the factors ls1/ls6 gasket?? Did I gain or lose a bit of compression using the ls1/ls6 gasket vs the Cometics?

Later Bro.

Lou himself told me "NO" You would have critical engine damage/failure. I asked him about doing a custom grind on a 110 and he said it wouldn't be the best route to take with my engine. Unless I wanted to change a few things to make it work, and of course that meant a lot of money. You wouldn't have any Piston to Valve Clearance with an X3 on a 110 LSA

The stock GM gasket is .054.....

The Cometics are thinner......

I was under the impression that both the 112/114 lsa G5X3's will clear on stock head cars, but a change to AFR's or milled AFR's for that matter require flycutting?

I "believe" the G5X2 clears milled heads with no flycutting.....Louis, possibility of chiming in here?
