Default Switching auto to 6spd

Im getting my car switched from an automatic to 6 speed and I was curious if you have to change or configure the computer at all. For a rebuilt tranny, gearbox, and center console I was quoted $2200.

it technically isn't required, but you will have a lot of codes, your speedometer will be off, and the engine won't run optimal while driving. If you're getting it done I would imagine they will do it with the quote they gave you, ask them if they do or not. You can probably find a used computer with a manual tune on it for pretty cheap if you don't want to get a tune.
