The less weight in the valvetrain the better. You just gotta figure out if it's worth the cost for your application.

By taking weight away from your valvetrain and strengthing it at the sametime is benefical because it makes the valvetrain more stable at all RPM's i.e. reduced flexing, extending the life of the components. Lightning different components (retainers, locks, valves etc..) will reduce the amount of strain you put on the spring, allowing them to control the valves better. You will be able to bring the motor into higher RPM's if you need to because of the now stronger and lighter components.

The valves in my Dart heads were made by Eaton and were larger than stock, but also lighter than stock. The also had a "REV" part number on them.

Larger, not longer. The guide can be machined to accomodate that. Longer than stock would mess up the valvetrain geometry big time.

Sorry, just to be clear the Dart valve was 2.02 and 98 grams and the stock is 2.00 and 101 grams.

the lighter the valve train the better. also improves velocity and less strees on the springs and able to turn higher rpm due to less weight quicker turn up also
