I have 2 of them, one still new in the box waiting for a project and I ran the other on my truck for about a month. Was too big for my 4.8, but seemed like a really nice turbo, and a lot quieter then the T-60 I have on it now. Took longer to spool, but felt stronger to the butt dyno ;)

I've sold a couple and one did great and the other didnt make it to the street. I'm a little gun shy now. I sure wish they did better though.

If you want a budget turbo then go with a TC series unit, which can be had all the way up to a 76mm. Its a bit more, but you do get what you pay for.

I can't speak for Dr. Turbo, so correct my post if wrong. I think alot of the angst distributors feel against the manufacturer (MP, Brazil) is that the units that have shown problems become very difficult to process, warranty work and whatnot, with MP because of distance, shipping, and maybe even some service-related issues. Luckily, mine has never acted funny. It's coming off the car now, and I will check it thoroughly to make sure it still spins like new.

One of the ones that don't fall apart!!! :emb:
Seriously, your chances are good. Do a search on TurboMustangs and of users here, and I believe the overall experience with them is satisfactory... If you want ZERO problems, go Turbonetics (like my T-76GTQ). You may still get a bad one, but nothing beats the Turbonetics warranty.

im running a masterpower t70 on my car in a rear mount setup with a .68 housing(had a .96 but it took too long to spool, for me anyways) and i paid about 550 locally...really nice piece, wish it was alil smaller cuz it looks huge down there lol, but other than that it has been flawless..just like any other turbo and turbo setup only thing is you just have to get the oiling situation correct and ur good to go, but im sure all of u know that lol btw my car dynoed in the 380hp/405tq to the wheels on 5 psi with the most conservative tune ive ever seen due to some weird (and false) knock i was getting on the dyno :eyes: i know for a fact it has a lot left it in...but ill just wait till i do some other stuff for a retune :)

hmm..so DR. Turbo..you havent given a reason why they suck....?
We have had alot of them come with the wheels scrubbing, out of balance, smoking oil...etc..etc. And you can forget a quick warranty turnaround if the manufacture has to take care of it. You'll be looking at 6 mons.

dammit..i need a decent turbo..new used..67mm+ but I only have "around" 600$ to spend on it

how good is the turbonetics warranty?and bboy when will u think the turbo will be in ur hands to see if i can jump on it
bboyferal
09-06-2006, 02:21 PM
You don't have to "jump."
You know you got dibs... :D
I'm supposed to get it this week. I'm going to call to remind them.
Oh... The Turbonetics warranty is one year no questions asked IIRC. Presumably, this includes an efficient and speedy process. I hope I won't need it and find out firsthand, but it's good to know it's there.
