Default ticket for speeding in construction zone

i got this on 121 N tonight coming fom downtown fort worth. I was going 80 in a 65 and it was a construction zone. I have a traffic attorney that I use in Fort Worth (James Mallory). But seeing as it was in a construction zone I worried I won't be able to keep it off my record. Defensive driving and deferred ajudication (sp??) are not options when the citation was received in a construction zone. Just wondering if anyone had any experience with something similar to this. Calculating the fine that I would have to pay outright to satisfy the penalty and have it go on my record it's like $356 or something. Looks like the law finally caught up to me

i've heard before that it's only considered a construction zone when people are acually out there working. so if you got it at night and there wasn't anyone working maybe it will just be a regular ticket...?

I heard the same thing. As long as workers aren't present I thought you were alright.

Why did you hire a lawyer? Just get deferred ajudacation. I got deferred when I got an exhibition of acceleration ticket in Denton County, then I got another ticket in Northlake (Tarrant County) and also got deferred. The price is about the same whether you choose to go on probation in that county or not is the difference between paying the ticket or going on deferred. You will be paying regardless. I advise you pay for deferred, be a good boy for 6 months (or however long it is) in that county and it will be wiped clean off your record after the remainder of the probation.

i know that you can do DA on tickets but NOT in fort worth when it is in a construction zone with workers present. Atleast thats what the municipal court website says. I have done DA and defensive driving numerous times in the past and am very familiar with ways to keep tickets off my record. As luck would have it I received ANOTHER ticket today for 59 in a 45. I flew past a cop as he was driving going the same way as me...not to mention i got one last week for 51 in a 40. Its just not my week--that makes 3 speeding tickets in less than a week actually. I guess it just goes to show you that driving fast will catch up to you eventually. Im thinking I will just do DA on the one i recently got and hope that my lawyer can get the other two dismissed or atleast DA or defensive driving. By the way, yes, I know i'm an idiot

Damn bro! Not your week huh? Well I got the exhibition of acceleration, speeding, and running a stop sign (should be a yield sign, seriously ) all in a months' span. Know what I did? Parked the car in my parents garage back home and drove a car that cannot exceed 75 mph until my DA was up, .

do police departments/municipal courts have the ability to see if you are on probation or are taking/have taken defensive driving to get tickets dismissed in other cities?
