Gotta question for ya vfn. Since i dont frequent this forum really (im on cz28.com), i just found out about the group purchase. Im still debating if i want to get that hood or not. If i do end up wanting to buy it, is it ok if i let you guys know monday so I'm not jumping right into an expensive purchase? Thanks. :)

What I'll do is extend the group purchase until next friday - 9/15 at 4pm CST. I noticed that the original thread was removed for a while - I think during some cleanup.

1fastt/a~ You generally do not need additional pins in the front along with the latch, if the car is mainly used for street. However, if you are using the car for strip, you may wish to add additional pins in the front. We generally recommend any car going over 130ish, may wish to add the additional pins. :)

Hi Guys.
We can open the front of the scoop, upon request. There is no additional cost for this option. This will make the SS hood functional to draw in cold air, however, unlike the original, there is no direct chanel to dump the air directly into your air box. These hoods include the factory slp grills.
The 93-97 Sunoco style hood is 3" in height.

What would shipping be on the 5" 98-up Extended Pin Firebird hood to 75052?

Had a hood shipped from there last week and it was $77 freight to Austin. Got here in 4 days.

The quality is Great, there are some spots on the scoop that looks kind of fragil, but its alot way better that the cheap copys from ebay...

Here's some pics i have since the car is black it kinda looks like it's already painted. I cannnot seem to get the Slp insert in so it's without it for the moment but all and all i've very happy with the hood, it needs some adjusting on the driverside so this is defently not the finish product.

looks awsome man!! i have the same problem with the grill i cant installe it either. is the hole to small?? i dont want to put to much pressure im afraid it'll crack or something...

LOL, yeah same here.. I believe it is to small and it will need to be opened a little bit more but i don't want to crack it either so i will leave it to the pros.

How much of your hinge did you have to modify? The passenger side when in perfect with no issues the driverside needs to be pushed back more, But no biggie i did most of it just a little more and it will be perfect.

the driver side when in almost perfect but the passanger side is alittle bit high, but besides that, the hood fits perfect!

Ok...on to questions about the SS Hoods...
We open the grill opening as much as possible at our shop, but there is some additional trimming that you will need to do on your end in this area once you recieve it. We don't want to take it completely down, as we might cut this area too short.

Where the hood is sitting up high on one end, this can be easily fixed. You may need to just open up the hinge a little more so that the hood sits flush, which should do the trick. :) Just wonderin, did you guys recieve instructions with your hoods? Just to make sure our shipper is sendin em out :) If you need some more help, let me know - our guy here is very handy with installing these hoods and can guide you through the install process. :)

Hoods are unfortunately truck items and the shipping charges are paid directly to the carrier upon reciept of your item. We recommend having the item delivered to a business address or pickup at the nearest terminal as many carriers charge additonally for a home delivery (between $50-$70 more). Average freight to your location is $80.00 to a business/terminal and $150.00 to your home.

1FastTransAm - I'm sorry about the freight charges to Hawaii - when shipping overseas it's unfortunately more expensive - mostly because they go by size dimensions - takes up more space in the container, so they charge for loss space because they cannot stack anything on the items.

Exile ~ The pins are not included with the hood. We do sell these seperate. We do not carry the laynard style pins (4-large pin) instead we carry the flush mount dzus fastners, which come 10 to a pack along with backing plates. On the gp, the price on these would be $38.00.
Shipping to a business or terminal has been on average between $70-$90.00 and to a home location between $150-$170.00.

Tainted ~ Average freight to a business or terminal between $90-$120.00 and to a home location between $140-$160.00.

Asmodeus ~ Same prices for pickup, but we are required to charge sales tax on any customer pickups or customers who reside in Illinois. Our percentage is 7.5%.

A few things I wanted to mention on shipping. On the hoods if shipped, there would be a $20.00 crating charge added to the price of the hood.
To keep the freight charges as low as possible. We recommend having the item delivered to a business address or pickup at the nearest terminal - which we can help locate for you. Many carriers charge additionally for a home delivery - usually between $40-$70.00 depending on which state it is delivered to.
Or if there are several of you guys in one location, can always steal Demonbird's idea and split the freight with a fellow ls1tech'er. Shipping 2-3 hoods raises the price slightly on freight charges, but nowhere as expensive as having several individual shipping charges.

Another idea for you guys, if you have a contract or deal with a shipping company you can arrange to have them pick the hood up for you and deliver it to your workplace. This save me a lot of money on shipping, plus I have a badass hood now :)

We make our products to order, current wait time is 3-4 weeks - or sooner, as we try to knock out the gp orders as quickly as possible. The group purchase is extended until 10/31 at 4pm CST.

Unfortunately we did not make a mold for the sunoco with center line for the 93-7. Not sure if we will at this point in time - sorry!!

Any body shop could easily add a line for you... I personally wouldn't because I don't think there is a line on the factory 93-97 bumber to match it is there?

The everyday price for LS1tech members is $495 ($550 MINUS the 10% discount)... Not sure if they are running a GP right now but it's usually only $20 or so more off than the normal price for us...
