383 lt1, th400 w/ transbrake?
im building a 383 lt1 and im bolting up a th400 with a transbrake. the question i have is what stall should i go with?
the motor will have a 200-300 shot on it with a 8.8 rear with 4:10's or 4:30's in it.
question...
1. what size stall do yall recommend and what brand?
2. on a trans brake, how high can i "stall" the car up to on the line?
(i know nothing about trans brakes and i thought it was like a neutral switch, push it in and u can go all the way to the rev liimiter on it, but was told different from reading on here that you cant "trans brake" the car past the stall limit.)
3. can someone explain to me how a trans brake actually works?

what size cam will you run with what peak torque/horsepower? thats how you determine the stall you want, cuz the stall has to match the pwer band. i do believe the 'brake stops the fluid and locks the trans to let u stall up to the "true stall" of the converter, then when you release it takes off from whatever stall you have.

have any good shop that makes converters, make one built to your car, dont just get an off the shelf one, yes it will work but if you get one custom made it will work a lot better, when you get one made they want to know everything, engine displacement, compression, power adders, cam specs, cars weight, gears, everything. I paid 800 for my converter but its well worth it, its set up to work with my cars power band.
