Exhaust on the quiet side for LT's/ORY...
I have LT's and ORY pipe and I would like something a little more tamer. I love the way my Magnaflow sounds right now, but I don't like how everybody in a block radius can here me coming under normal driving...not to mention accelerating away from traffic lights. I can't moderately get on it w/o the guy next to me thinking "I am giving her hell" and then trying to race me...
I am looking for something a bit quieter and that doesn't have any rasp. My Magnaflow was very quiet before I put LT's and an ORY pipe on. I am looking into either the Hooker catback or the SLP dual-dual. I have heard that the Hooker is also a quieter catback, but from what I heard on LS1sounds.com it's very similar to my Magnaflow.
any advice?

Wow, I've never felt that my Magnaflow w/ LT's was loud at all. I thought it was one of the more tame exhaust I've heard.
But...I have also heard the Hooker is quieter and as you said, sounds a lot like the Magnaflow. See if you can find someone near you with a Hooker and LT's and that'll give you first hand experience. Good luck.

yeah, it's not really too loud, it's the rasp that sucks. Right around 2,500 rpm's there is quite a bit of rasp...even at moderate-light throttle. I guess it's just annoying as it sounds like all those numerous trucks running around where all you here is the exhaust as they S L O W L Y drive away....lol I don't mind loud exhaust, but not when I am hardly on the throttle.

you could always go back to a stock catback and put a cutout in it for when you want it loud and need a little extra power, from what ive read magnaflow is one of hte tamer exhausts out their, unless your go with the SLP duel duel system

my buddy went from a borla to a hooker catback with lt's and an ory.. it was obviously quieter than the borla, but it had its own distinct and unique sound to it.. go with the hooker catback, i think you'll really like it

I had magnaflow with ory before and a borla xr-1 muffler in the ipipe really took away that shitty rasp sound. Sounded 100% better and it actually made it sound deeper as well, more muscular.
I have a corsa on now and it was raspier than the magnaflow without cats so I put the borla back on and the rasp went away again. Sounds much better again as well.

SLP dual dual - quieter than what you have and a deep sound, I love mine. flows well too.
stock catback - quiet but cackly (had this one too), very stealth
add cats - will solve your problem, also a bonus of reducing fume smell
add a bullet to the I pipe - will solve your noise issue cheaply
Those are all good options that will solve your problem IMO

thanks guys...I never thought about the bullet muffler. Which Borla XR-1 do you suggest? I see they have a "bullit" series, but it only comes in one size and is 2 1/2" in and out. I am pretty sure my Magnaflow I-pipe is 3".

Wow, Borla to Hooker... that's kind of a downgrade. I like my Borla, sure it rasps some, but you get that with LT/ORY + most cat backs. I think my fav part about the Borla though is that it came on the car and I didn't have to pay the huge ammount of money the damn thing costs.

SLP Dual/Dual is what i have, and it is by far the quietest aftermarket performance exhaust i've ever had!!! Well...With the quietness, it's a claimed performance exhaust??? I use the cut-out when needd though, so it's perfect for the wife ridin' with me, or open it up for some track duty and around town by myself
