Gears & Axles - Used gears need broke in?

I bought some used gears off of another member on here and had them installed for $100. My question is, since they are used, do they need to be broke in the same as new gears? I tried searching but it kept timing out. Thanks in advance!
Sort of, but not really. Hows that for a lousy answer. lol Installing used gears is always a gamble. Yes, they are mated to each other, as long as they are reinstalled with the same pattern as they had in their previous installment. I'd take it easy on them for several hundred miles. Bob

Anything with new bearings will need a break in period. New bearings generate a TON of heat, so a few heat cycles are a neccesity.
