Default Need Major Advise!!! Real Knowledge Apply Only!

[SIZE=1][B][FONT=Arial Black]Just ahd my car on the dyno, and I' F@#$ing pissed!! I know it it only a tuning tool, but to see the numbers, it makes me sick. Look at my sig, it lists all the goodies, I'm wondering if it is the exhaust causing it to have such low #'s? I'm running the y with a cutout, the y is 2 3/4 into 3, not running true duels yet...My buddy has similiar set up except that he has a slp 403 with affr 225;s and his is an a4 and his cam is on a 112..really embarressed to post the dyno #'s.my buddys car went 480hp and 440tq on motor....lets say his kicked my ***...and I have a m6....any ideas?..Patrick,Orange, somebody...please give insight before I start blaming builder and head choice using hp tuners..tune is almost perfect..ran WOT and no maff tune...a/f ratio was 12.8-13.5....I've seen cam only cars do better...Dyno is local, all import shop, my buddy thinks I got the f/u button..I don't know.. Like I said I know it is only a tuning tool, But for the cheddar I paid, I should put at least 500++++

Post a dyno graph and we may be able to help....just looking at what parts are in your motor and seeing you say that it makes no power does not direct us well enough to form an opinion on the cause.

Dude you need to post a dyno graph and any other information you may posses. A/F, temp, dyno type, other conditions. It could be a million things including dyno calibration etc.

First thing is take it to another dyno in the area if you are that worried. But best thing is to take it to the track and see what numbers you get at the 1320...

That is around a stock 6.0L gasket thickness IIRC...

I'm definately trying another dyno....cam degreeing was done by builder...motor has been in a week with about 700 miles....It pulls harder than my numbers post....could be the tune...but the tune works great, and my a/f is almost perfect....very confused, pissed off and ready to get rid of it...

I think you need to look at it as a diagnostic tool. Something is wrong, could be simple, and don't assume the motor is fubarred. Start your diagnostic process and nail it down.

I got a low dyno reading once, turned out the CAI block off plate had come loose and closed off 3/4 of the air filter...you get the idea.

Who did the tuning? Are you sure the throttle is opening all the way, I saw that happen to a buddy of mine. LME, and TEA are quality shops, and I'm sure they will stand behind their work.

If you are confident the tune is good...and the car is running fine/pulling strong then don't worry about what numbers it makes on the dyno. Take it to the track and post some ET's and your mph. That will tell you everything you need to know. : )

Could just be the dyno... I know the dyno near my house put everyone almost 10% lower than they should have been...

Can't make a judgement without seeing the curve. For instance, a naturally aspirated LSX motor set up correctly should make its cubic inch displacement in torque by 3000 rpm and 1.25x it's CID by peak torque. Anything less (on a proper dyno) only shows power left on the table. Let's see the curves.

Patrick, I would assume those numbers you cited are rear wheel dyno numbers and with an M6 and not an A4?

Correct. RWHP numbers for a manual transmission.

if it is an import shop they may have fudged on something to lower your numbers.you should have easily seen over 500 rw with that combo.
