internal engine noise?
i just got done finishing up my ls1/t56 swap. and ive drove it for one day. and i have a ticking noise that is causing a miss. i am not getting any missfire codes so i have nothing to go on. me and a tech that looked at it came up with the opinion that the vavletrain is making the noise. so tomorrow im going to take it in and do a power balance test on it to isolate the cylinder.
also i was reading as well as a friend told me that running 10w-30 motor oil is to thin. i guess it thins out when it gets hot so it causes excess vavletrain noise? well if i run the castrol german synthetic oil 0w-40 would that help or even possibely cure my problem?
also once i isolate the cylinder and check the rockers to see if they are getting hung up or not. and then to take the pushrods and role them on a flat surface to see if any are bent. how would i go about checking lifters to see if its colapsed?
