Default 411 gears with a4??

Hey guys i might be putting a dr-evil 4l60e in my car. It will have a yank 4000 stall. Ive had 411s because its been an m6 car. Can i run these with the auto? I plan on going mid to low 10 with this trans now at about 120-130mph. Will going to a 28inch tire help? New to the auto world.

a 28" tire will help out alot. I'm not how fast you can run in 3rd, and at what rpm, but I bet theres a formula for it. try this out and see. http://www.tciauto.com/tech_info/calculators.htm

I put a few things in, and with 10% converter slip, 26" tires, 4.11 gears, 1:1 3rd gear, at 120 mph. trap rpm is 7000 rpm's. with 28" tires it's 6500 rpms. I bet if need be you can extend the rev limiter. But I really donno how much a typical(high stall) convertor slips at the big end.

Try this. http://www.richmondgear.com/streetcalculators.html

On the street, with lockup, the 4.11's shouldn't be too bad. You should be able to cruise at less than 2500 rpm unless you drive like a maniac.

Im runnin 4.10s and it works good for me.I however am switching to a 28" tire,6800 rpm shift points and i am still going into 4th and the very end in the 1/4.If your planning on spraying you will need a taller tire for sure.

Wow your going into 4th running an 11.5 at 117? In that case ill really need a taller tire. Im only going to be shifting at like 6500.

my question is when you have a weak rear...why do you put a bigger tire and less gear...put a taller gear in there and less tire=stronger rear
take them out and stick some 3.42 .r with 125 spray or more do 3.42

I know several guys at my last base who ran 4.11 gears in their stalled automatics. It can be a bit much if this is a daily driver, but it is all dependent on what you can take. They didn't run nitrous however, so that changes things. As far as cruising and all that, they won't be a problem.
