Default Car jerks when started?

My friend has an 02 TA WS6. when he starts the car in park, the car jerks as though he had his foot on the brake and shifted into Drive. what would cause this, and is there any reason to be very alarmed?

When I did my exhaust (which is dumped under the car) and put the Optima battery in, the starts are so powerful that my car will also jump a bit, forward. It comes back though. Sometimes it bounces off the parking brake.

Mine does it ... a trans tech explained it in a thread on this forum a while ago - nothing to worry about.
