Default 93-97 camaro dash panel(dash pad)?

the piece that goes inbetween the actual dash and the windshield is what i'm talking about..lol..

I have a 94 camaro and the panel is brittle as all hell.. it broke coming out of the car(we fixed it) and it broke again in a different spot while i was trimming it to fit around my cage... i'm guess its made out of a different material then the 98-2002 ls1 style , because i've never had a problem with those when removing, installing, trimming for cages anyone know if i can get a new one from GM and if it will be brittle just like the one i have? makes me want to swap over my dash to a ls1 style so i dont have to deal with this...

Yup, broke mine while pulling it out for someone on the forum. I think its just been in the sun for so damn long, that they are so brittle.

GM PN for 93-96 is 10267171 GM LIST: $224.00 GMPD PRICE: $132.77

I gotcha, that must have been a GM defunt during the late 80s early 90s. I busted the one in my Lumina Z34...replaced it...busted it again. My sister's Cavalier did the same thing. Damn GM!

FYI I bought my Lumina replacement from the junkyard for like $20. If you can find a good one its a lot better than a couple hundred.

Yeah, I ended up buying the parts to convert to a 97+ style.

sucks..I figured it was either all those years in the sun or its just made differently then the later ones....
I'm thinking I might just swap over to a newer style dash completely...

thats where mine split, but they are different from 93-97 to 98-02... they are shaped different and weve done cages in 98-99-2002 and i never had any issues, thats why i wondered if it was strictly a sun damage thing from being a couple yrs older or if there made out of a different type of material .. i could bend the things(98-02) up like pretzels and they didnt make a peep... mine broke when i gave it a little tug to pop it off

I bought mine used on ebay. I hear the new ones break too, which is why they are expensive, even when purchased used.

Why is the 97 different? The 97 and after all have the same interior--not sure about color and materials--the layout is identical. That's why I bought a 97. I wanted the LT1 exterior and LS1 interior.

I wonder if I could fit a 98+ replacement in my 97?

93-96 are different, 97-02 is the same. They do get brittle with age i just bought a brand new one for my TA dash because my old one broke. The new one was so damn flexable, but i was still scared putting it in.
