Default Help me get to the low 1.5x 60's

I have a basicly full weight street car with QA1s set at 2/6, BMR torque arm pinion angle set @ -2.5, 3 position relocation brakets in the bottom hole and 275-50-15 M/T DR's @ apox 16-17psi on 10" wheels. I have a 4000 tci converter with a TH400 and a trans brake. Gears are 3.73's The car is trapping 94.5-95 and I'm running in the 7.3x's with 1.61-1.63's flashing the converter. If I try the transbrake it really goes up in smoke to a 1.8x range.
I don't have any sort of sway bar in the rear yet but don't want to go a race only bar like a Wolfe.

I think I could see some 7.1x on motor if I could just get the 60's down a little.

What would you do to get the 60's down

seems like you should work on the suspension, you should be able to leave off the transbrake. what kind of power are you making?

My car is pretty much a heavy pig too, Getting 1.53 short times with mine.
I have the Wolfe single sway bar. Other than that we are similar, except I have battery relocated to right rear of car, and have a carbon fiber hood, both taking weight off the front. My QA1's work best set at 3 and 5, and I have removed my front sway bar. Not on DRs, using Hoosier QTPs 27x 11.50 x 15 with Bogarts. Are you running skinnies out front? (just wondering how we can get some weight off the front and some weight transfer for you) Good luck.

you probably could have gotten it done with the a4 with a good converter. the th400 will kill some of that bottom end, thats what happened when i went to a th400 with my car.

Yep I'm with Chevy Goldfinger. That weight on the nose is critical. I noticed more consistent 60' times with just the battery relocated. Now I'm throwing in a k-member and have just taken my a/c out.

Drag radials dont work as well on transbrakes , also get a drag sway bar, like a spohn or bmr and that should get you where you want and they arent that bad on the street.

I sold my old 3800 Vig converter this week so I used the $$ to order the Spohn today. Hoping it's here by the weekend.

Not sure or the brand on the TA mount/ trans xmember. Just another used part I ended up with like the whole rest of the car. It uses the stock style mount with 3 hole positions. The TA is a BMR adjustable. I'm not gong to make any changes until I get the Spohn drag bar on there and get rid of the roll rotation. That alone might get me there. Fingers crossed.

Sounds like a Yank x-memeber. Id move the front mount towards the bottom. either the lowest or the middle hole. Then readjust the TA to closer to -4 since I think you still have some rubber/poly bushings in the rear suspension.

The Spohn Drag bar isnt going help much on the initial bite which is why you are blowing the tires off right now. If you have to you can move the rear brackets up one hole. Look to have the lines from the LCA's and the TA meeting at or behind your shifter area and the car should start biting on launch...Use the same PSI for the tires after these changes are made then start working with tire pressures.

Thanks for the tips. Have you seen the poles and posts about you on the other site. Thats some funny stuff.

I have it in the lower holes right now. The thing is it starts to hook then starts spinning. I was told the LH front came up at least 8" and then started spinning. To me that says I am loosing traction as the rear tries to rotate up into the RH body. Thats what I am hoping the Spohn will cure.
