Default Is my fuel pump going bad?

How hard is it to install an aftermarket fuel pump on a 1998 camaro ss? Mine starts buzzing every know and then. Do you guys think its normal or is that noise going to come and go on any fuel pump?

You may find the sock at the bottom of the filter is clogged. This is at the bottom of the pump at the bottom of the tank. There are posts on how to get the pump out of the tank, I would go the trap door method, but others have dropped the tank out. There are many posts on taking the pump out. Mine was clogged and made that straining buzzing noise.

Chevys fuel pumps always make noise. If you hear it going in and out, it is a possibility that the pump might be working its way out.
To do the replacment you have to drop the gas tank down along with the rear suspension/ rearend. Not all the way out but almost( it isnt as bad as it sounds)
The trap door method allows you to forget about dropping the tank. You do have to cut a hole in the car.
