You want to use a LS2 timing chain, not an LS6. Good idea to upgrade your oil pump while you're in there. Also a underdrive pulley since the old one's off. Lifters/rockers are OK, but pushrods should be hardened. Also get the '01-up LS6 intake.

Definitely a ported oil pump, LS2 double Roller timing chain, LS6 or FAST 90/90 combo(ROUGHLY 1200ish give or take)

Thanks for the info folks, I already have a torque converter (just not installed yet) and I'll prolly stay with the stock (ws6) gears... So I'm looking at ported oil pump, and ls2 double roller timming chain, and ls6 or fast 90/90 intake... Where can i get the oil pump, and timming chain?

The LS2 chain is a single roller. It's much more HD than the stock LS6 one, though, and as much chain as you'll ever need. Check the vendors list on the right side-----> Lots of great people to deal with.

this is the standard list pretty much..
this is what i did:
LS2 chain
TSP ported LS6 pump
hardend pushrods (find out what length you need because aftermarket cams have diffrent base circles)
valve springs
i also replaced my lifters, because i was only $125, and i dont want to have to replace my lifters becuase of the fact they are under the heads
you should also do LS6 intake at the time
i would HIGHLY suggest removing your motor and trans to do this swap for several reasons. several people have stripped out or broken off bolts trying to do head swaps in the car. it will be 100xs easier to do the swap out of the car, and you dont have to be bending over all the time. another advantage is that you are going to do a stall and shiftkit, so you might as well just pull it all out at the same time. there is a thread on here about a guy who stripped out one of his headbolt holes..

Depending on your miles lifters also. I am aggrevated my Brand New lifters are toast, but I am a rare case when something like that happens. If you want to save money on install costs, you could do an FAST intake, electric waterpump, and items like that to squeeze all the power out that you can. Since those have to be removed anyway.
