Default LGM G5x4 question

I have a G5x4 and I was wondering what lenght pushrods I should run? I was suggested a 7.450. I know places like thunder racing has them, but from you guys who have bought hardened pushrods before who has the best deal on them as of now?

Louis, I emailed you on your LGMotorsports account and I never got a response. I have a couple of questions that I would really like to ask you about this particular camshaft I have. I know you are a VERY busy individual and I would greatly appreciate you either emailing me or messaging me on here if you can. My email is nathan_78malibu@hotmail.com thanks again.

I took that email off my sig because Ive had some issues with it, I did use it with our webmail server at one time because Im never in one spot very long, but now you can just email me through the board, or louisgigliotti AT yahoo.com

Depending on your setup, it would range from 7.400-7.350, never longer than stock with the combos we currently offer. I sent an email to you as well

That part I can never understand.
XE-R cam with .04x smaller effective base circle radius. That alone requires a longer p-rod on stock headed (unmilled) and stock gasket setups. Ideally p-rods should be "custom" to be longer by the same amount of base circle radius difference Vs stock, but off shelf ones come in .025 increaments so 7.425's would be best.
Otherwise lifter preload can be reduced by as much as .050 and running .050 preload is a little light don't you think?

If you say 7.425 is correct, how does using a 7.400 equate to a 50 thou mismatch? I did the research and development over 9 years ago now, almost 10. We have been using a 7.400 since day one, just like Thunder, TSP, MTI, Futural, ect. No issues what so ever.

I think with everything the way it worked out, it was a 13 thou wash, either or, and it was at that point ( 1997 )easier to get a 7.400 pushrod. We have used that same pushrod since the get-go.

I used to use 7.400 cam only on XE-R untill about 2 years ago, where I simply got tired of the clityclic-clic of the valvetrain and decided to experiment with longer p-rods.
Now, we both know that 7.400 is not the exact stock length and that depending on which brand used they actualy can measure up to 7.41x.
I've measured stock preload to be in the .100 range so depending on actual aftermarket p-rod used, the after cam new preload can range from .05x>.06x using advertised 7.400.
BTW I've never measured a stock p-rod at exact 7.400 (they range from 7.38x>7.9x on the various years I've been through)
That is why some motors will make more racket than others. Still within that range (less than .080 preload) is a bit light IMO and 7.425's will get you closer to the quieter .080>.100 range.
Wouldn't you agree?
