Default Cam Question

Just wanted to get some input on this cam. 224/228 with a 581/588 on a 114 lca. Is this a good cam for a car that is just driven on the weekends and taken to the track as often as work allows. I will be combining this with Jet Hot long tube headers and ory. Wanting to stick with the stock stall for now until i can afford to get the tranny built. Already have 3.73 rear gears with an auburn posi. Just want a little lope and some extra power!

Yea thats a good cam for what you want, though you might want to consider upping the stall. That stock one wont last to long imo. By the way who do you plan on having install the cam and who is doing the tune?

I was going to install the cam myself but if i could get a good deal locally i might pawn it off. Also John Weeks will be doing the tune!

I have a close cam, you can check my sig. I run 12.6 @ 114 on street tires, and I will admit I cannot launch to save my life. 2.2 60' times average either spinning through 2nd or bogging. Idles smooth, with enough lope to know it is not stock. lot of valve noise though, not sure if it was the heads or the cam causing that

ttt Still want some more info on this cam! Looking into the 224/230 581/588 114! Probably will be matching it with a yank or tci 3500-3600 stall!
