The little vent on the pillar is the best place IMO. If you get the correct size light that is.

I put my Raptor inside my TA's center AC vent. Very stealth, and I see it just fine. I had to fabricate a small base, so that thelight was angles correctly, no big deal tho.

The vent is a good place, but I kinda like the little hole on the a-pilliar. Its almost like it was meant to go there haha.

I have a blue Raptor that I put in a couple of nights ago. I put it in the defrost vent on the pillar. I like it and its hidden.

Look above the odometer. Eventually I'm going to get a new bezel and do a cleaner install.

was goint to put mine (raptor) in the pillar vent but wanted to be able to put the cover on and off easily. Put mine right in front of the shifter in the little pocket you don't even notice it until you look for it

Put it where you can easily see it while your staring down the track. It wont do any good if you have to look for it. It should be where when it lights you see it while your staring straight ahead. I've got a mini light mounted to my tac on the steering column.

I put mine on the column as well, it is a Raptor and it's held in place by a little bit of velcro. Everyone asks if it came stock so it doesn't look out of the ordinary at all if you ask me. I didn't think Harlan was still making his shift lights?
