the lt4 maros arent alll to badass as you may think. they got like 330hp maybe less. the saleen all depends on what model. some are just a dman cat-back and fancy body kit others a turbo monsters

Nope no less.
300 hp to the wheels is 12's for an LT1, and that means their around 340 tq, give or take.
If the Saleen isn't S/C, I think it will lose.

Of course I own an LT1 so I have to stick up for him.

I thought the LT4 was just the LT4 intake manifold along w/ the LT4 cam. Are the heads different? I had the LT4 hotcam in a '94 Z I used to own along w/ the 1.6 rockers and was putting down just over 300 RWHP and somewhere in the 325ish on torque. I was hitting around 13.3 @ 107 w/ that setup.

The LT4 is a different engine than the LT1, which would include it having a different manifold, cam, heads, etc. Most LT4's actually dyno around 350-360 horses at the crank.

There were no factory/SLP Camaros w/ LT4s in 96 I do not believe (pretty sure it just 100ish made in 97 IIRC), which means it's probably a LT1 w/ the LT4 heads, LT4 hotcam, etc. In which case w/ the supporting mods it should be making around 340-350 rwhp (less if its the regular factory LT4 cam and not the hotcam), about like a decent bolt on LS1. I suppose it could be more if he's running ported heads or a bigger cam than the hotcam too... Should be a good race.
