Question Pulleys worth it?

I was looking at the SLP pulleys and ASP pulleys. Are these worth it? Are there any negative effects? Thank you,

with autos there can be alternator charging probs but replacing the alt pulley when doing the mod can fix that. Changing the alt pulley does lessen the performance gain of changing the pulleys in the first place though. Some people with A4's raise there idle speed instead. I think to probably around 700 rpm in gear but not for sure. If you haven't yet try using the search to get more info. In the mean time maybe someone else with more info will respond.

I'm suprised at the responses so far...most people will say that the pulley is worth a tenth in the quarter mile. I have an auto (without the alternator pulley) and have not had any charging problems. Do your research and then make your choice whether to get one.

the same, you just have to change the alt pully sometimes on an auto because when your sitting still in traffic with it in gear the engine is still under some load while a M6 is always in N while sitting still.

A pulley on a LS1 is worth it.... it is one of those mods that go well with other. The more power you pruduce, the more of a factor the puley will play. I had a 25% underdrive pulley on my previous 98 Z

I would say it is worth it. I think it a good 10 to 15 WHP. I wouldn't do it before like LTs or a cam though. That would be one of the later mods I would do.

There's this little thing called a search engine....find one and type in "f-body underdrive pulleys" in the search box.

I think I've heard about people do'n this before. I think the myth is that its supposed to save a bit of fuel. Alot of people pop em into N on a down hill and let her roll on down. Which might work,....I guess,.......but in traffic or come'n to a dead stop sounds to me like sheer !

I'm personally look'n at SLPs pulleys to get after I'm done with gears and a TC.

I would get the SLP or Powerbond pully. I have the SLP, but have not installed it yet. I'm lazy.
