Had a little fun this weekend with the car! I raced an old rival with his new setup. It's a Foxbody with a 347 stroker and other supporting mods, BFG DRs, etc. Both cars are manuals.

Yes sir :) But to his credit, he had one too. His passenger weighed about 140-150 tops to my passenger that weighed 240. But hell, he said his cars race weight is 3000, where mine is 3540.

I don't think he had a traction problem. The 347 in my opinion was not tuned and maybe not build right. There are a few here where I'm from and sound nice but run like sh*t. I've seen 302 with just H/C/I and bolt on's destroy those cars. Builiding a 347 has to be build properly and well tuned or all that money spent goes down the whole.

LMAO, he had no traction problems. He couldn't even get the car to do a burnout. We even poured out water!
He blamed it on 4 cylinder pedals and manual brakes. But at any rate he came off the line with no problems.
Some people can build a good performing combo, some can't.....

Nice kill and thats exactly the problem with most engine combos. People throw things together and they dont put down the power they are supposed to or they skimp on the tune and never run what they "should" run. Plus not every 347 is making 450+ hp...I love the ricer excuses though...4 cylinder pedals...manual brakes...classic

Yep! Don't jinx me :jest:
Seriously though, I don't launch it hard at all. And I know that they have broke with stock tires and hp levels. Mine has just been hanging in there pretty good. Rolled over 45k today :)

haha im not trying to :jest:!!!! im on the stock rear as well and i have around 400 to the wheels. i think if ur easy on the rear and u dont launch CRAZY HARD theres no reason it shouldnt last for a while. mines pretty brand-spankin new as it only has about 26k.
