Default My first race w/ a V8...

I've had my new T/A for about a month and have been dying to have a race to see how my car would do. On the way home from a friends house I had a eclipse bothering me the whole way so I finally raced him and absolutely killed him (no surprise). Finally today I'm on my way home for lunch and I pull next to a very clean looking 05 Mustang GT w/ 20's all the way around. It had nice exhaust on it but I could not tell if it was an auto or manual. We got an open stretch of road and punched it around 60 and I quickly pulled half a car on him and by 110 had 1 1/2 when we both shut down. I was sorta surprised since my car is an A4 and only mod I have is a lid and an unknown brand of exhaust. I must say I am EXTREMELY impressed w/ the high end power of my new LS1 compared to my old LT1.....can't wait to start modding!!!

I had a backwards experience by going from a '98 T/A to a '94 Z28 that I bought about 4 years ago in college (couldn't afford that car at the time). Anyways, I drove the Z and couldn't believe how much slower than the T/A it was. I even popped the hood on the test drive to make sure it had an LT1 in there!! It came w/ a crap midas catback that was probably only 2" so I went w/ blowmaster (didn't know they sucked at the time) and a CAI and it really woke it up.

Very well said and this statement deserves total respect. It's true that most people don't know what "fast" really is. This is the problem people have with modified Civics and other imports. That's just how the mind works, and this mindset can be applied to anything; not just cars. Like the old saying goes, "You never know a man unless you walk a mile in his shoes." Well, that phrase can be modified for automobiles by saying, "You never know a fast car unless you drive one." The sad part is, like Mystic 98 TA, many people learn this lesson the hard way...

Funny enough I was hanging out w/ a buddy the other day and his little cousin showed up. His cousin is 17 and has a little civic hatchback w/ some work done to it (not sure exactly what). He asked to take a ride in my friends '91 Mustang 5.0,so we all jump in and go for a ride. My friends ride has 3.73 gears, shorty headers, catback, and intake. We hit a red light w/ a ton of open road ahead and when it turned green my buddy punched it. After pulling to about 75 and letting off the throttle his cousin starts going crazy about how fast the car was. He was saying it felt like a rocket and he had the biggest grin on his face for about 2 hours after the ride. Funny enough his cousin is always bragging about how fast his civic is and how many cars he beats all the time. It was nice seeing him in complete amazement of the power of a V8...even if it was only a 5.0 .

I myself have had 3 f-body's in the last 4 years so I can truely appreciate the upgrade in performance. Started w/ a '98 Firebird, then jumped to a '97 T/A, and now finally the LS1. My new baby is w/out a doubt the best however I do miss the sound of my LT1
