Cleaned up the car so I tried using someone else's advice about taking pics around sunset but it didn't turn out too well. It was partly cloudy and the sun was about to set. I don't like how there's so many "white" areas on the car. Anyone have any suggestions (other than lowering the car )? On the plus side the car is more red whereas last time it seemed pinkish under the bright sun.

looks to me like the camera is gathering in too much light, then again i'm not a film expert so....

Me neither, but I'd say your right on the money. Check your exposer options.

agreed...check exposures and also if you have a flash...turn it off. My rule of thumb is; yuou can't take "really good" pictured like you're looking to get wihtout a tri-pod. take the date off too...kinda tacky

you can try to edit the lighting and what not after the pic is uploaded into your computer.

Flash is off and I can use a tripod but I don't see that really helping the pic as much as I want it too. I don't know if I can adjust the exposure on my camera since it's a cheap Kodak c340. I was hoping the pics would be better being that it's a 5 MP but apparently not. Also, I just forgot to take the date out of there. Thanks for the inputs so far.

Cloudy days can usually make for some good shooting because it will often create an artificial ceiling of sorts kind of like shooting inside a studio. I'd say you A) didnt wait long enough before taking pictures and you probably could have waiting for the sun to set a bit more and B) you're not using your camera to it's full potential.

Watch the position of the sun in relation to you and try to wait until afte the sun falsl behind the horizon line but before it gets dark. Thats usually a good time to shoot if you can get your camera to properly expose the shots and not have them turn out too dark. Otherwise the low-light cloudy days are your best friends.

shoot in manual mode. use the Ev function if you have it. the colors in the background are dull and not bright. the pictures are overexposed. you could also try to focus on the background so the lighting it adjusted for there and not overblown, then keep that focus and take a pic of the car using the flash.
