Default Change of plans?

I like the TA body style and for fun punched up a 99-02 TA M6 wiht 75K or less miles into auto trader and found half a dozen w/in 300 miles of me. They looked clean and were priced at around 12-15K. I figure with some negotiation even the 15K cars would go for a tad under 13K (I am paying cash).

Maybe I could go with a Trans Am instead of a Z28 (I prefer the TA).

Sound reasonable? Would 75K miles be too much (I draw the limit there) and would stuff break a lot or not really if it was well maintained should I be ok?

Does 13K sound off? Edmunds TMV of the car was 13,600 DEALER REATAIL for an 01 TA with all options (except WS6).

Hmm....12K sounds like a bit much to me. I payed $10,500 with tax, tag, title, dealer fee crap on my 2000 T/A with only 62,000 miles. Also, miles dont really matter just make sure you check to make sure it wasnt abused but 75k isnt bad. My limit was originally 60,000 but I pushed it to 62,000 because T/As are RARE in S. Florida my search took 6 months
Oh one last thing T/As > Camaros

I was saying that was my LIMIT! not my starting point Thanks for renewing the faith How can you tell if a car is GU5? I heard the shifter has no "1" option because of some noise regulation or something?

The m6 comes with 3:42s standard, the auto has either the 3:23s or the 2:73s depending on what option package you got
FWIW miles don't really matter alot, as long as it was maintained well, and the option code will be on the SPID sticker on the drivers door, and/or on the original sticker

Sorry but yeah just the inside of the driverside door has the code. I remember the night i got my car home and I read on the internet (this site I think) about the 2 different options on autos. I ran outside to check and BAM. GU5 Needless to say I was pleased. Oh and I know this doesn't directly apply to your question but just for when you get the car BUY AN AIR LID! Its amazing. I went from an average of 16 mpg (all city) to roughly NINETEEN MPG (still 100% city). Man I'm so happy, keep in mind a 3.23 auto is the least gas efficient of them all but I am a very conservative driver. Anyway sorry but just thought i'd share the info Good luck with the search
