So today I went and did my paycheck stuff at the bank and picked up some food. Parked my car, turned it off, Im not sure if I took the key all the way out, but it was past the "on" position. I opened the door and the radio didnt turn off. I pull the key out and it stayed on. I put the key forward to the "on" position, turned off the radio, turned it back and pulled it out (door still open) and the radio stayed on. I closed the door, started the car, turned it back off, pulled the key all the way out, opened the door and the radio turned off like it should.
Went to go home this afternoon. Keep in mind the radio was still of from earlier that afternoon. I get in, close the door, put the key in, and turn it forward when I hear this staticy/interference sound followed by a bassly type of boom from the driverside trunk speaker. I immediately turn the key back and take it out. I put it back in and turn it forward with nothing and start the car, but now I have that annoying high pitched sound that usually comes from amps when the radio is off. I turn the radio on and it goes away. Off and it comes back, on and its fine. The door was closed this entire time so it wasnt turning completely off when i took the key out. I went to turn the key forward and hear this staticky sound from the same speaker. I turn the key back, then forward and the same thing. I start the car, drove home, radio on and all, get home, turn off the car, take the key out, open the door and the radio shuts off, just like it should.
Can ANYONE diagnose whats wrong with my radio? I called a friend that would know about this kind of thing and he said my radio is taking a dump. But I would like to get a 2nd opinion before I take it in and try to get my warranty company to fix it. I would just say f' it and get an aftermarket HD radio thats satellite ready and all, but Im a lil too broke for that right now. Im hoping it doesnt happen anymore, but if it does Id like to know whats wrong.
