Default What did you pay?

I just wanted to get some opinions of what you guys paid for a set of 4 tires. I am in the market for a set of 275/40/R17 but I have no idea where to start. A quote for some OEM Eagle F1's literally put me on the floor.

What did you guys pay for a good set of 4 tires?

That is very inexpensive. How do you like these? Do you have any reviews on them?

You get what you pay for..... name brand, performance rating, wet/dry traction, sidewall stiffness, etc......... either way for our cars, I believe tires are one of the most important parts b/c without good tires you'll be in a ditch, or complaing out the traction, or how it feels loose, etc. Spend the cash- it'll help you, but thats my $0.02

don't cheap out on tires... i have Sumitomos on the back right now and they are TERRIBLE. they are as hard as plastic, ugly, and zero traction.

you get what you pay for. look on tirerack.com - but take the customer reviews with a grain of salt, some people claim the absolute shittiest tire is the greatest tire they've ever run.

i just purchased BFG g-Force KD 315/35/17 for the rear @ 510+44 shipping and I already have 275/40/17 GY Eagle F1 GS on the front.. I believe they are 260 each on tirerack.

I am looking into the Eagle F1 GS-D3, or the KUMO ECSTA. The Eagles were supposibly the best rated tire in a recent Consumer Reports.

Anyone else?

What are you looking for out of a tire? Daily driver, performance handling, long life, nice tread pattern, etc.

It all depends.

I would like to balance value and performance. An extra .02G on the skidpad doesn't concern me as much as having a little more grip at launch.

I am honestly pretty easy on the tires, just want something that will last for over 20K miles.

Keep adding what you have. This is a good reference to have.

I paid about 650 for the Kumho MX good tire IMHO. They have about 23k on them. Gettting closwer to death..but still have like 4/32 and still actually do well in the rain and stick very well on the dry.

Also just got 4 Wide Ovals for 693 installed and lifetime balance and road hazzard. They really good so far...I was going to huge puddles of water and usually it pulls the wheel and u have to fight not these..these are very good tires. And its a good price.

My theory is the 350-400 for a set of 17's are the cheap crap..and u can pay little more 500-700 and get good tires..paying like 900-1300 is 5% improvment for 40% increase in price and not worth it for me.
