My steering wheel shakes (sometimes violantly) under braking above 60 mph.
The car was well taken care of before I bought it, it had 89000 on the odometer, no rattles, sqeeks, you couldn't even hear the wind through the windows. Now it has 105000 and I haven't gotten the brakes check or changed. Could this be it?
Thanx for any help.

Probably warped rotors would be my guess.

Yah I just did a search :emb: and by the desciptions in some of the posts, I could have a warped rotor(s). Thanx

I had a similar problem. For me it was a frozen pin/slider on the left front caliper. The calipers are supposed to 'float' on the pins. If the pins don't slide then both brake pads won't sit correctly on the rotor.
Even if you have a different problem make sure you lube your pins well and I suggest replacing the seals on them. Cheap insurance.

Replace all 4 rotors with non-oem ones, like brembo or duralast. The oem ones are complete crap.

Warped rotors. I've got them too.

It could be a number of things, that's for sure. Here is an interesting write up on rotors warping (or not):

Yah fellas I think it may be the rotors because I also got that "grabing" sensation when I apply the brakes.
