I've been using the Goodyear Eagles with the stiff sidewall off the transbrake. I use the d3 compound. I've gotten consistent low 1.4's with a best of 1.42 so far and I'm hoping for a 1.39 when it cools off a little more.
You are making more power than me and I'm only running mid 10's to your low 10's so not exactly apples to apples but the tires work well for me.

Always nice to hear some props, thanks. I'm usually at Etown every wed nite, if you happen to come down one night you're more than welcome to to mount up my wheels for a run or two and see how they work for ya. I got a silver WS6 with a Cartek sticker on the windshield. Just come over.

Are you having problems with the 27in. qtp hooking on the bottle, or n/a? Reason I ask.. is my car's all done and I have the 27's.. I'm hoping I didn't make a mistake.

I think for n/a they will be fine, but eventually when I put the hose to it.. I see myself having to go to a 28 inch tire, and possibly losing the 4.10's for 3.90's or 3.73's, depending on how much I put to it.

N/A no problem hooking cutting 1.42s with wolfe sway bar and front qa1s.
When i try ang use the trans brake no luck blows the tire loose. I was told to go with a 28". Thats where some of my problems comes into. Some say go with the full Hoosier 28" slick and some say do with te Hoosier 275/60/15 radial. Dont want to keep on buyin tires.

I dunno what to say abotu what tire to run.. Ken would reccommend a 28x10 et drag, as he likes them, hell that's what they've had on their race cars and they've had no problems going into the 8's on them.. so they are probbaly a safe bet.

Personally I went with the 27's because I didn't want to butcher the car to get them on.

What needs to be done to fit the 28" on a T/A? Is it just that inside lip on the rear bumper?

inside lip on the rear bumper BFH mod in the front of the wheel well on the inner part, probably a good diea to roll the edge on the top, a set of adjustable control ars to shift it a little and center it right with an adj. panhard rod would help alot too.

Ken could probably tell you better then I can. I knwo a 275/60/15 et radial, which is 28 tall needs nothing, because it doesn't grow. It's the tire groth on the big end that causes problems.

you're asking the wrong guy as to wether the radial will hold... bfh.. big ******* hammer. The front of the inner wheel well.... run your hand along the 27 inch qtp, everywhere it's close, hit hard with a big hammer

I did have a question for you.. after you sapped in the th400, what did the car make for power? I'm curious for comparison sake.

The drag radial won't hold the transbrake unless you're on a 30" tire. I had the MT 325 50 15's and they would not hold a t brake launch and I'm N/A.
I had the fenders clearanced front and back to fit the 28's. Top lip was not modified. These pics are of 29" tires that I drive around on but you get the idea. These are on 6.5 bs rims.
