Default 6.100 or 6.123 rod length question

http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...115+4294867688

On that link I've searched for 350 Gen 3 rods. I think that should be the right search. It lists 4 rods, 3 Scat and 1 Eagle. 3 are 6.100 inch rods but one of them is 6.123 inch...why? Is there some reason for the longer rod (other than the obvious longer rod is better but the difference is so minimal it makes me think a clearance somehow)?

They all say they're 4340 rods, but the Eagle "looks" to be the best -- cause it costs the most lol. Someone more experienced chime in and give me the goods on what these different rods have to offer.

Looking to use probably an LS2 block with some rods and a 4" Eagle crank. I assume I'll have to get the rods stroker clearanced (dunno about the block). Can this be done on the Eagle rods?

Mucho, mucho gracias in advance. --Steven Cummings

thats one thing i doubt i will ever understand: stroker kits for the gen 3 motors are made with a 6.125" rod while the stock rod is only ~0.026" shorter! a longer rod makes more power, but cmon.... are you really going to want to spend the money on new rods just for that 0.026"?

id say your best off to stick with the stock rods if theres nothing wrong with them unless you plan on pushing 550+HP! (ARP assisted =] )

Doesn't make an enormous amount of sense. I'd assume we're only talking minimal cc's with regard to a compression ratio. It'd be far cheaper to mill the deck than to swap out rods...so why bother? On Summit (I assume I can say that - they're probably a sponsor and everyone knows anyways) they only have 6.1 and 6.123 rods...are we kidding dude? 23 thousandths? What is really going on...this sounds less like Chevy Small Block power rationale and more like rice racer madness.

Wow that just makes it more confusing....so should I use 6.100 6.123 6.125 or 6.200 on the 402?

Can I use the 6.100 rod to get the 402? The stroke by bore should yield me the 402 cubes no matter what I go with in terms of rod length. Why do guys go for the 6.125 instead of 6.100 - it shouldn't matter that much if the piston accomodates for compression.

6.098 is stock, most 4" stroke pistons are make for 6.125. dont know if anyone makes 6.098 for 4" stroke pistons.
