Question tire size between brands

hey guys im haveing to get a new set of tires because my car had a alignment problem and it messed up the out side edge of the driver side tires[had the problem before i rotated so i messed up 2 of them].
i have the 275/40/17 falken grb 451's and they look narrow and it looks like it has a small contact patch and i have a old kumho 712 and it looks 1-2 inches wider
im eather going to get a set of nitto 555's or some bfg g forces but my question is what is the wider brand of tires like goodyear, bfg, nitto, ect?

thanks guys

If you'll visit the tire manufactures websites, they'll have the tire dimensions listed out there. Just look for "section width".

goodyear and bfg run on the wide side. nittos run narrow.
