Default New 1/8 mile best Friday night

Finally got some cool weather (50 degree) and a well prepped track (quick 8 shootout night, lot of 3-4 second cars).

pulled some 1.25 60 foots (2nd and 3rd pass), thats the good news.

bad news is with the BS3 it wont rev past 6500rpm, getting cam sync errors like crazy as soon as it hits 6550 or so Good thing I upgraded from the stock PCM lol.

So while I got some killer 60 foots not being able to shift the car up higher cost me a bit. Previous 1/8 mile best was 6.026, new best is 6.020, well hey its a new best and getting that last .021 seems to be a problem lately..

Few videos, at least the car is leaving well

Killer 60's.....just killer....what's your thoughts of BS3 vs oem? Any significant plusses?

Congrats on the new best!

New rule: You may no longer post "New Best...." threads until there is a 5.9x timeslip in said thread. I keep getting my hopes up every time I see this title from you! I bet its frustrating, huh? I would have just unbolted something from the car, like a door or something. Too close to allow me to go home and sleep!

I could have maybe got a 5.99 if I kept trying but no reason beating a dead horse (and some expensive tires), honestly I'm a little frustrated at this whole season - somehow you wouldnt think getting a couple hundreths would be that big of a deal..

Lesson learned, if something isnt broke dont fix it

Heh, my luck the way things are going I'd put a 100 shot on it and it would run 6.00001

Well... you are right there man.

Honestly do you like BS3 or not though? I am thinking about swapping it into my car with the new setup...

I was right there 7 months and 140 passes ago with the Z06 cam and hooker cat back too

Well at this point I really shouldnt say what I think about it lol. I never had a problem at high RPM with the stock PCM for hundreds of passes and two different engines. Unfortunately I sold my injector driver, two step, MAF and stock PCM tuning stuff to pay for this so I'm kinda stuck now.

I'll send the logs over to them and see what they think but unlike most I switched from a perfect running stock PCM setup so there is no reason why this shouldnt work if the stock PCM did. I went through the same stuff with a Gen7 DFI in another car and spent over 1500.00 in parts, shipping and dragging the car to the track half a dozen times (not to mention pretty much wasted the whole season) trying to figure it out and that wont happen again. Plenty of guys use these without issues but unfortunately I'm not one of them

Why did you ditch the stock pcm? I run it and it is great, granted when you sold yours they were not "as" tunable as right now.

I have a 98, not as many options as the 99+ PCMs for boosted cars I was between swapping to a 99+ PCM or doing this. Having built in 2 step, a P&H injector driver and being able to run leaded fuel without chewing up four sensors I decided to do the BS3. Its a nice system and I was up and running well in an hour, all the runs were made on an initial 'guess' tune, the closed loop wideband stuff works great. I can go in and adjust the VE table now using the logs and that wll be that.

I know about the issues ltlhomer had and will talk to John if I can get a hold of him tomorrow but this late in the year I really dont feel like making a custom trigger setup right now. I have a big blower pulley where the trigger wheel would go and I'd have to make something off the rear of the ATI damper where the AC pulley would bolt on.

I'm not slamming the BS3, like I said many arent having problems, its just a little frustrating for me with some good weather being here

I have a versafueler driver sitting here brand new. If you think about going back let me know and we will work something out. I hope you get her into the 5s. Theres nothing more frustrating than being on the edge for a long time. Good Luck and keep at it man!

I may take you up on that.

If I cant get it fixed fairly quick I'll put a 99+ PCM back in. I have a PCM but I need a harness since I cut mine up so I can use my stock PCM for the gauges/speedo.

either check the 'cam synch override' box or get a tighter timing chain
