Here's what my Spec Stage III clutch looked like after 8 months on my bolt-on car. I was sort of disappointed with the life I got out of it.

Where can I go from here? Any Spec reps on the board?

The clutch had plenty of material on it, but still gave way. It was infront of a 10-bolt so it never saw that much hard driving. It looks a little rusty from hanging on the wall in my shop.

my spec 3I is still holding on :drive: My car see's more track time than street. These's clutch's will not last if you slip the clutch a lot.

my spec-3 is starting to slip too and im pissed. I only had it a year and its seen some runs but i havent beat it up much i havnt even got 6k miles on it, not to mention just about chattering by car apart. But you live you learn i will not go back to spec.
And as for the spec reps i doubt they will do anything for you.
What were the signs your clutch was going out did you have any squeeling noise coming from it?

damn it i hope i have good luck i just dropped 550 on my spec 3 with the F upgrade. it looks like if you beat the shit out of your car alot the more it will last like it has been that way with alot of people i talked to on the board. i need to last at least 10k

I have 100 passes on my spec stage 4. This is my second one the first spec 4 had 30,000 street miles and 300+ passes at the track. I decided to replace it last year because I thought it was worn out. I reciently sold it to a guy here in town that was in a pinch, and he is beating on it, and it stil works like the day it was new. The last hundred passes were all in the mid to low 10's launching at 6500 to 7000+. Needless to say I have not had any problems. Also to note I am not a clutch slipper, I dump it or slide my foot off the pedal.

Lol there is a diffrence in price there . Not even fair to compare one that is twice the cost .my spec is holding fine with about 4 thousand miles and 40 passes with spray off the line. Just a little bit of chatter but nothing serious. On that note i will be getting a stage 4 when this lets out .

Same thing here with my Spec 3. Approx 25 low 11's passes with 6400-6500 rpm dumps with no slip during launch and it's toasted now :bang: Installation was done properly with the shim and resurfacing. Same bad story with the Centerforce 12''. Our cars are heavy and they have a lot of torque and horsepower :jest: I think i'm gonna go with a Mcleod Long style or Borg and Beck with high spring and pedal pressure for drag racing only. I don't thrust Diaphragm clutches anymore. They are too soft (Light pedal pressure for a DD purpose) for hard drag racing clutch dumps with big slicks. Maybe i'm wrong but this is what I think. Twins are very expensive but maybe this is what we need.

Maybe the problem is my driving style but I hope there is a clutch on earth who can do the job :jest: What kind of clutch is needed for a full weight car who runs in the low 11' or high 10's? I would like to know because i'm tired of changing clutches and I don't want to go Auto :(

slipping the clutch is what done my spec 3 in.having your car in a parade going up and down hills having to slip it for seconds at a time is a bad idea :bang:

Is it just me or does the disk look like it has oil on it?

i think i beat mine up a little bit more.. this is what happens when your slave cylinder starts leaking and you keep driving for a couple weeks

Those are spots where it got hot from slipping. I knew it was shot when the car would start to free rev at 55 mph in 6th gear at 1/2 throttle. Those spots are from getting it hot while it was dying... BUT you're right. In the pictures it does look like it has oil on it.
