Default New best with Trick Flow heads!

I made it out to the track Friday night to make a few passes in the good air. The DA was about 400ft which is good compared to the +2000ft that it has been over the past few months.

All passes were made just as I drive the car but with Convo Pro skinnies on the front and M/T drag radials on the rear. I had ~1/2 tank of gas and the usual crap in the car such the laptop, basic tools, rags, drinks, and other minor miscellaneous stuff. My race weight was ~3420.

My goal for the night was to run in the high 10.8x unfortunately the track was having problems with the ¼ mile MPH sensors so I just ran the 1/8th mile and my goal was changed to run 6.8x in the 1/8 mile which would be a solid high 10.8x pass in the ¼.

I pulled around and with the cutout closed blowing through the stock I-pipe and DynoMax muffler I ran a 6.97 @ 97.89mph on a 1.53 60ft. I was fired up! I knew that with the cutout open I had a good chance to run in the high 6.8x low 6.9x range.

I stopped in the pits and opened the cutout and headed around to the staging lanes. After a short wait I pulled around and made my pass. The car launched hard and in what seemed like a blink of an eye I was passing the 1/8 marker. I looked up at the track timer to see a 6.89!
I pulled around and picked up my time slip to see a confirming 6.89 @ 98.79mph with a 1.51 60ft.

The performance of these Trick Flow 215cc heads is absolutely outstanding even with my “baby” 230/230 cam.
Brian Tooley at TEA said these were great heads and the track numbers support his statement and the dyno numbers I have seen from other cars running these heads.

Kick *** John! We knew your car would get faster as the weather cooled down. Just wait for the really good air in the upcoming weeks. You might even dip into the 10.70s.
