Default Strong storms Monday night

Any of you caught in that good t-storm that rolled through Il and In? That thing woke me up at 2am and 40mph gusts that are directed to the wall and window of my bedroom was nuts. I looked at the radar at one point and the storm went from Fort Wayne to Lafayette and all the way back to Peoria. One giant solid red thunderstorm cell. I am suprised I haven't heard any tornado sirens yet.

Hell, here in brookfield, most of the street we a minumum of 12 inches under water. And one major intersection, was close to 3 ft deep. A lot of cars tryed driving thru it and got stuck. Hell when I sent thru it in my truck, I had a 8 ft wave smack right into the side of my truck! (from a passing vehicle)

I was watching TV when it rolled into Lafayette, the winds were so strong with my windows open i had to turn the TV up probably 90% to hear it, that was a loud one last night.

I never lost power but all the orange construction barrels were rolling around. I got about 3 hours of sleep last night due to that storm.

My power went out for a few seconds at about 3:30am, just enough to reset all the clocks to 12. Luckily I had been up doing stupid C++ homework so I was awake enough to set a little clock alarm. My co-workers would've been a little pissed if I rolled out of bed at the crack of noon.

I am a network engineer for Verizon here in Columbus, and I personally worked over 100 individual T-1 customer sites in and around the Chicago area from about 10pm - 2am last night. Oddly, we haven't seen any of that storm.

I lost power for 25 hours.
Many people here are still without power and/or phones & cable.
Measured winds of 80+mph.
Trees, branches, poles, wires were knocked down everywhere.

Pretty much sucked!
