Default 370c.i. questions... Please come in..

I did a search and didn't really come up with a whole lot..

I'm about to build a 370... I have a 6.0 Iron block that is brand new from GM... What size crank, rods, and pistons do I need.. It's gonna be a Nirous Motor so I'd like to keep the compression rather high... Around 10.5-11.8

Guys thank you for your help..

if you are going to get a whole rotating assembly why not go 408.to get to 370ci you'll need to punch it .030 over just like the 408 and the rotating isn't alot more than a 370 kit.sdpc did have a sale on rotating assemblies = i think eagle crank/rods with diamond pistons. if it is a new block i would just hone it out for the pistons you are going to run and leave it at either a 364 or 402.

With a 370 you save the cost of a stroker crank which is around a thousand bucks for a Chinese Eagle brand and gets much more expensive when you buy the good American parts. You'll need a 4.030 piston. Diamond has an excellent off the shelf nitrous piston. I prefer the 6.125 length rods. I prefer Lunati but Eagle is very popular. I'm running right at 12 to 1 compression with no knock on pump gas. I'm using a G5-X2 cam and a 200 shot of nitrous. Use the best heads you can afford. My engine has made 638 rwhp on Nitrous Express's dyno. My car is pig heavy because of the iron block, cage, 9" Ford rearend, and other stuff. Race weight with me in the car is 4000 pounds. The car still runs 6.7s in the eighth. Not too shabby for a daily driver type of car with A/C and no weight removed. So far I haven't had any problems with 408s on the street. Good luck with your project.

ive got a 370 built by hpe. 11:1 compression. f13 cam. diamond pistons, stock crank, i dont remember which rods though. pretty nice build up. its not too much more expsensive over a forged 347 (about 100-200 more) to get teh 402 or 408 you need the stroker crank which as mentioned is pretty expensive. just be sure you know how much nitrous you want to run so the rings get gapped properly

I am also going to be doing a 370 in the future. I need to know if someone makes a piston that will clear for a cam like this 249/257 .640/.640 I will be running Stage III Patriot LS6 heads and am going with a Victor Jr. Carb'd setup and a 200 shot. This is all going in a 95 Mustang that should weigh bout 3100 with driver
