Default just installed rebuilt tranny have ????

ok so i just put the trans back in my car, all i have to do to finish it off is add fluid, i read that you can fill the tranny from the shifter assembly, is this safe?? is there any reason not to do this??? also the clutch had less pressure on it than it did before, i didnt take off the slave or the master cylinder during the the install, i just unhooked the main hydro line goin into the side of the tranny, do i just need to add some fluid or have it bled?? any help would be great..

Do a bleed. If the slave or master did not leak down, a simple bleed should firm up the feel Filling the trans from the shifter port is the quickest way. You have to glug it in from the interior so spillage may be a concern for care.

I just filled mine up from the inside. I took off the "fill" plug ont he side of the trans, and poured 4 quarts in. At first I thought it needed more because it wasnt coming out of the fill hole...but after about 45 seconds it started to dribble out. Screwed the plug back in, put the shifter on and called it good.
