Default Rebuilding the T-56

Well not till winter, that's part of the winter project this year. I'm looking to have the tranny rebuilt. Second gear is stripped or something. When I power shift from 1st to 2nd, the 2nd gear grinds and this only happens when I shift to 2nd. Or if I back the car out of the driveway. Reverse grinds a little to. The trans is the oldest thing on the car and has a full life that's for sure lol!

So what am I looking at if I have someone rebuild the trans completely. A couple g's? I'd like to keep it under 2 grand if possible.

Also what do you guys reccomend for clutches. I occasionally take the car to the track and I goof around on the streets sometimes. I've heard of stage1 or stage 2 clutches, what kind/brands are best for a guy in my situation.

Rebuild it yourself. Its not to bad just make sure you lay everything out and put it back the same way.

Yeah I here ya it's not that I can't rebuild it, it's just that I don't know if I have the time. I'm also getting into the engine this winter, and I'd like to know that if something goes wrong I'm not stuck, I can go back to the tranny shop and say here it's not working right. If I mess it up I'm screwed lol! I do appreciate the motivation tho thanks.
