Default Good all-around cam for high peak numbers and 350 tq at 3k??

i know i can't really have the best of both worlds without comprosing one for the other but whats a good all-around cam? with shifting around mid 6ks? kinda jealous of my friend's cobra who is puttin down 390 lbs of torque, . . . . . . . . . . . at 3000 rpms, felt like a beast, . . mods: home-ported ls6 heads, lid, pacesetters, h-pipe, ud pulley . . . .

thanx!!!

i would say the best all around cam would be the tried and true TR224.and if you want to pump up the mid range, try it on a 110lsa.it won't give you huge peak numbers, but would pull hard from 3000 and up....

im afriad that if i get the 224, i would want it bigger and buy another one, . which equals money, agravation and wasted time, . . wanna get something else that is a proven performer like the 224 but with higher peak numbers, . . and a lil lopier, . . hell, . . i dunno what i want anymore!!!!

my mods are in my sig and i made exactly 350 ft-lbs at 3000 rpm.nice and driveable too.You have to setup a nice quench and good compression or you wont get that midrange your looking for.

I've been running the TR224 for a few years and it is a good street cam. I did end up wanting to kick it up a bit though. I just bought a 228-232 110 on LSK lobes. Still waiting for it to arrive though.

My Torquer 2 made 353 rwtq with a 3500 stall. Very good DD for an A4 with a good tune and shift points at 6450. I am also on a 113, the 112 would be perfect for ya

Be sure to post the results after it's installed and tuned. Although I went with a cam that PatrickG recommended, my buddy is contemplating a very similar grind to your's...

Rule of thumb when cam shopping. When you know what you want, always go a little bigger. I wanted the 224 for my daily driver. Got a 228, and i am a very happy man.
