Default ls6 stage 1 vs ls6 stage 2.5

what are better the stage 1 or the stage 2.5 ls6 heads from tsp for a 222 224 cam i am probably going to upgrade the cam later is the stage 2.5 worth the extra money or should i just get the stage 1. any input is appreciated i have all bolt ons stock gears it is a 2000 camaro ss

What are your plans for the car? Stages are usually valve sizes, not porting for the record.

it is a m6.i cant decide what to do either heads or cam i bought the car with the cam i really dont know what size it is but it sounds almost stock.what should i do

how do you know that it is actually cammed? If you do change the cams, send that one in to get cam doctored, then if it is indeed an aftermarket cam you can sell it for damn near what you paid for the new one. Hydraulic cams are pretty much reusable as long as the lifters don't chew them up.

i have a video of it you can hear that it has a cam but it sounds small

I might not necessarily be small. It could just have little to no overlap.

so what heads do you think would be better 1 or 2.5 are the 2.5 worth 500 extra dollars i might upgrade the cam later.i have the 853 heads could i get over 400 rwhp i have 370 right now.

I was under the impression that the 2.5 heads were for larger CID motors. Is that wrong?

I only wish I was as good as listening to a car idle to tell you what size the cam is. No one is gonna be able to do that...not off a sound clip. Most professionals can give a ballpark figure on what some of the specs might be. The only way to find out is with the cam doctor or if the previous owner still has the cam card.
