Looking for an engine Hi everyone. I am looking for an engine to put in my 56 Chevy. I wanted to buy an engine/tranny combo with the computer. Is there any year or particular model to avoid, or one that I should look for? I probably will be looking for an LS-1, because that is the least expensive, right? Thanks for all your considerations..........Ernie

Any LS1 is good, they're all the same basic motor. I'd get one out of a GTO or f-body since the Corvette has the transaxle thing going on...
Other than that, I mean go for it. the 2001-2002 cars had no EGR so it looks cleaner, and they were rated at more horsepower due to the LS6 intake manifold. Same goes with the '04 GTO.

slp duel timing chain
msd 8.5mm wires other lil **** but if interested get a hold of me
i got a lil over $6500 in this setup....will let it go for $5,900 firm....

I was looking to spend atound $3500, I have seen them go for that with a tranny and puter. I had seen a lot of them about a year ago on Ebay for that price, but there aren't any right now. I will keep looking!

hey my buddy just boguth my engine and he's pulling his its comming out of a 99 trans-am WS6 it has i believe 90k on it runs fine im sure he could garentee that too he's looking to get around $2500 for it if interested PM me
