Default Would I need a re-tune?

Hey guys!

Well looks like I have 2 leaky cometic head gaskets on my LS2 with ETP 225 heads...

I must be very unlucky... (As I was meticulous about cleaning the deck surface and the heads were brand new)

I think I want to use Stock 6.0L head gaskets... (I have heard they seal much better and much more often than cometics...)

My cometics have a thickness of .045"

And I think the 6.0L gaskets have a thickness of .055" ???

Here is my question:

I am running 12.27:1 SCR
If the new gaskets are .055" then if I use those I will have a SCR of about 11.9

Will I need to be retuned? Will the car run differently? Or is this such a small change it won't matter...

If I don't really need a retune I don't want it... (As I like to hold on to my money)

I have cometics with my ETP 225's and have no leaks. I did use copper sealant spray though. Are you sure you installed them properly??? You may have them wrong side up... As far as a tune goes, you should be fine.

I put it on this way:

I had the understanding that was the correct way to install it. Please correct me if I am wrong.

you can look and tell by the way the block looks. I have done it the wrong way before and got the same resukts as you were getting. Copper spray isnt really necessary with cometics. You should just install them dry and see if the passages were getting blocked.

Some passages were definetly getting blocked!

Here is a pic of my ETP Heads:

Here is a pic of my Block (It is a LS2 Block... But I thought LS1 and LS2 had same deck except for bore)

And look at the gasket above in my other post
