Track rules? I'm just wondering, what are the rules for the tracks? Like track length, width, etc., if someone was to build one. How much land would one need? What all has to be present at the track for legal runs? That kind of stuff.

Basically, you would need a good size chunk of land for a 1/4 mile track, like 3/4 mile long by 1/2 mile wide minimum.
Not sure how they are in Slovenia about noise, but in the USA the locals would fight tooth and nail to keep any dragstrip from getting approved near any incorporated town.

I have the dimensions some where, if I find them I will send them.
the smallest 1/4 mile track I have seen is 1 mile long by 1/4 mile wide.
The noise thing is a issue I forgot all about, great point, you better check into that 1st.

Hey thanks guys. My girl got it in her head that it would be a good idea to try this if we end up here, it would be the first not only in the country, but apparently the whole region. She just wanted to see if it was feasible. It's too bad that they don't list the braking distances. Next time any of you go to the track, would you mind asking how long their braking areas are so that I can get an average? It looks like 3/4 of a mile would be long enough, but I don't know. There is enough land in Slovenia that I could put one up without too much trouble. It is the size of New Jersey, but with a miniscule 2 million people. Lots of land. Finding it flat will be the trick.

Most tracks have exit after the finish line at 1/4, then an 1/8 mile, then another 1/8 mile ... after that is the sand pit. So braking distance should be around 1/2 mile at least. So for the total length of the track you would need atleast 3/4 of a mile. The longer the better.
