Default new set of heads

would these be a good set of heads to use? and if so what cam would work best with it?

I'm a little biased, but those would be a great set of heads to go with. There's quite a few cams to choose from depending on what you want out of the setup. If you run the stage 1s, that leaves room for a large camshaft(MS3 or MS4) to be run and make some pretty big power, or you can go with something a little more mild like a 228 or Torquer v3(231/234). I'm currently running the Torquer v3 with the Stg 1s and love the setup. The cam has a great lope to it being on a 111LSA and makes good power. The car pulls hard everywhere and is a fun street car(My daily driver). Hope to make it to the track before too long for some new times. Let us know if you have any questions about any of our setups!

thanks Brian for the info. I have 98 Z28 M6 stock gears with SSRA intake, LS6 intake manifold, Pacesetter LTs, X-Pipe, Dynomax Bullets, Hays alumminum Flywheel, LS7 Clutch, Subframe connectors.

MAF sensor, Throttle Body coming soon

My goal is to break into the 400 to 420 RWHP range. Now with these heads and a Torquer V3 cam with similar specs as yours. Do you think it possible to hit my mark with a good tune?

I would expect you to be able to put down 400RW cam only with the Tv3. Adding a set of heads like the Stg 1s would only make the setup better. With a good tune, you shouldn't have any driveability issues.

With that H/C setup you should easily make 400+. Leave the MAF sensor alone. The stocker is more than enough and using a after market MAF only makes it a bigger pain in the *** to tune.

keep the info coming guys this is great. as far as the lsa goes what difference would it make if i went with a 114 rather than a 111 lsa. From what i read the 114 is a little easier to tune, and is a little bit better as far as street manners go. all respones will be appreciated.

The 114 will raise the power band on the cam. Im assuming TSP grinds the Torquer V3 on 111 for a reason. Im assuming its just that to bring HP and TRQ on sooner in the power band. As well as make it so that you do not have to rev the cam to the moon.

As long as you go to a reputable tuner, they wont have any troubles tuning it. As far as street manners goes, its all in the tune.
