Default need help locating info on recall for 02 camaro (roof recall)

First things first I remember reading about this on here, but cannot locate anything about it, I even read the document because it was attached to the post.

My roof on my 2002 Z28 is bubbleing, and looks to be seperating into the two pieces. Well I remember probably a year or so ago, there was a recall for I think 01 and 02 camaros for just such a problem. I know they would take your camaro cut off the top roof and replace it with new pieces. I know it sounds weird but I know there was a recall document and what not for it. I actually thought about going and having it done just because...I guess I should have huh?

I just feel I would have much more pull if I had the document or some numbers for them to look up and such. I am sure if I go in and say there was a recall on the roof and it needs to be fixed they would just laugh at me. Plus, I am sure that this is not refered to as a 'recall' but I dont know what to really call it.

Please help me get this fixed before my roof looks like a mountain range, because I can see it going to that.

Thanks.
Fry

It was not a recall, it was a TSB. Any GM dealer will do it, you may have to fight with them a little but they should do it.

The silicone adhesive they used to bond the roof to the top of the car bleeds thru the fiberglass roof panel over time. The fix is a new roof panel that is thincker and different type of bonding adhesive and then repaint the panel.

I had mine done last year but could not find the TSB on our local site as they changed the forums and dumped the archived posts.

Not a recall, but a TSB #03-08-98-001. Know what you're talking about but not sure where the link is - a search for the # might help you find it.

It took a little persuasion to get them to do my 2001 last year, I still had the GMPP extended warranty on my car. They charged me my $100 deductible and did mine. It is better than it was, but they did goof on the slignment of the panel and refused to rectify it afterwards.
