Default hummer h2 with sts turbo , need help

hi there,

i have h2 hummer 2004 with sts turbo kit and a cam with 220 durasion 560 lift 112 lsa

first question ,
is this cam good for my setup ? specially that i need to decrease the sound of the car i dont need loud sound . i need some cam that is slightly better than the stock and has a low sound as the stock or higher a bit

also the sound of the turbo is very loud cos as you know the turbo is on the rear and they took the muffler out . i heared ppl are using magna flow 40 series after the turbo to decrease the sound is this ok ?

any other recommendation i will be happy to know them .

if the magnaflow muffler is just fine whats the model number and specifications .

thanks in advance

the lsa on the cam is to little....other than that its not gonna be "bad"

and yes people have put mufflers after their turbo

would you mind posting pics of the kit on the hummer just curious

I have an H2 company car. The engine bay is huge, what made you decide to go with an STS vs Front Mount (no packaging constaints). Considering how slow this thing is off the line, i would think a front mount turbo/twin screw blower would be ideal...no need to rev high in a 6K+ lb SUV.

That cam is onyl slightly larger then a stocker. The LSA on it is not desireable as u want a longer LSA. I think that since the cam is so small u prolly wont have any issues but im not sure. The issue it could have is that since the cam lobes are seperated by so little space u might end up haveing a exhaust valve open at the beginnin of the compresion stroke which would cause the boost to blow by. But like i said i think the cam u have is small enough that the LSA wont effect anything horribly. GL man

with a lower lsa like that you will have to much valve overlap blowing a good amount of boost out of the cyl...something like 114-116 range is a lot better

With a turbo you'll get reversion and actually send it back into the intake since most turbo kits have a higher preturbo side then compressor outlet side.

U cant go wrong with Lingenfelter. They do **** right. And as u are lookin for stock sounding then that might be teh cam for u. Im assuming CL is LSA? If so i never seen a cam with that much LSA. Not that thats bad jsut sayin that far lol.
It should definatly help ya. GL man

A longer LSA? Is that a bigger number (114, 116) or a smaller number (110)?

We use the Lingenfelter GT2-3 camshaft on a lot of builds, and have had very good success with it. 207/220 .571/.578 118.5 CL

You guys should work the math before saying the LSA is too big. His cam has no overlap, it's around -2.

Thats what I came up with at first too, but i've seen examples where it's not doubled  I'm not the best with cams but I can run calculations

The common formula used that I went by is:

1. int. duration + exhaust duration = A
2. A/4 = B
3. B - LSA = C
4. C x 2 = overlap
