Oil pressure gauge

Oil pressure gauge There's not really a section that specifies this subject. So, thought I'd try internal engine since it's to do w/ oil pressure.
I have an Autometer electric oil pressure gauge that displays 12 psi less than what is measured w/ a mechanical gauge. The oil pressure sender has been checked & is working & the original gauge has been replaced. The same problem exists. All wiring is correct.
My question is has anyone run into similar electrical sender type oil gauge problems & is there a relatively inexpensive gauge that works better? Am thinking of a mechanical gauge where oil is fed directly to the gauge.
