Hmmm... No rush to respond here...
I'm sure the apparently now-functional Search function will bring up a lot on this, but as little as 0.025" has occasionally been used on 8,000 RPM iron SBCs, so theoretically about 0.006" tighter could be used on an alloy block, as long as it was properly warmed up before getting on it too hard. That said, the downside of "two thous too tight" greatly exceeds the benefit, so 0.030"+ would be safer choice.

I run .032 on my H/C Stock bottom end @ 7,400rpm
I did not know if the larger bore and higher rpm would require a adjustment to the .032 I have run safely on my 346
